>
> A reminder that during the weekend of April 26-27, 2008 (Noon to 10 PM
> on Saturday and 8 AM to 6 PM on Sunday) the 11th annual Florida QSO
> Party, sponsored by the Florida Contest Group, will take place. Hams
> from all over the USA and the world will be on the lookout for Florida
> stations to work on 40, 20,
> 15 and 10 Meters -- SSB and CW. Activity is likely to be centered on
> 20 & 40 this year, but some contacts are still possible on 15 & 10.

> There are plenty of categories to enter (single operator, multi-op,
> mobile, high power, low power, etc) and many of these offer plaques
> for the winning entry. Beautiful certificates are also awarded in all
categories.
>
> The FQP offers a great opportunity to introduce many newly licensed or
> upgraded hams to the fun of HF operating.
>
> Rules, County abbreviations, previous years' results and current
> planned activity announcements can be found at
> http://www.floridaqsoparty.org
>
> We hope that you will pass this along to your membership and encourage
> them to participate. Or meet at the club station if there is one and
> work together to make some contacts (there is a plaque awarded to the
> top scoring club station in Florida). The FQP is a low-key event, yet
> many contacts can be had, even if you are running low power or your
antenna system isn't top notch.
>
> Many of you are in rare, sought after counties and everyone would love
> the chance to work you. See you and your club members on the air in the
2008 FQP!
