FCG Forum at the Tampa Bay Hamfest

If you are interested in Amateur Radio Contesting, or if you are just
curious about what Contesting is all about, the Florida Contest Group is
holding a forum at the Tampa Bay Hamfest this Saturday, December 6.  There
is something for all skill levels at the FCG Forum!

The forum starts at 10AM and will be held in the Longboat Key room.

The program is as follows:

-10:00a - Welcome to the FCG Forum - Dan, K1TO

-10:05a - Contesting Basics - Lu, W4LT
Come and learn what contesting is all about, how things work, and learn some
strategies for contesting.  Learn about a fun and easy contest for those
wanting to go "beyond Field Day", the North American QSO Party.

-10:30a - RTTY Contesting - Chris, WF3C
Learn about RTTY contesting practices and procedures.  RTTY contesting is
the fastest growing contesting mode, so come and learn why this mode is so
interesting!

-11:00a - Contest DXPeditioning in the South Pacific - George, K5KG
Contesting and DxPeditioning at the same time in exotic locations!  George,
K5KG has been to a lot of rare places, and will present his trip to E51-land
(the Cook Islands) for a recent contest/DXpedition.
 
-11:30a - Contesting Roundtable Discussion - Assembled Multitude Florida
Contest Group members and other interested parties will share information
about Contesting in general.  If you have specific questions about or for
our group, or want some how-to tips, this is a great opportunity to learn!

As in previous hamfest Forums, FCG will provide traditional
"multipliers-for-the-soul food", known to others as Pizza, for those who
visit our Forum.  This wonder food folds flat to fit perfectly between mouth
and boom mic while the DVK calls CQ and is easy to handle with your VFO
tuning hand (or with your non keying hand for the CW aficionados), while
providing all the basic nutritional food groups needed to keep your butt in
the chair in one conveniently flexible, foldable and resizable form factor.

Come and see how contesting can add to your amateur radio fun, increase your
operating skill and/or learn what Contesting is all about at the Florida
Contest Group Forum, Saturday, December 6 starting at 10am in the Longboat
Key room during the Tampa Bay Hamfest!
