This is a long email with important information.

Dear Members,
Talking with Paul Womble on setting up the date for
the shelter training class for April 24th, it's a NO GO. There will
be discussions on when all Amateurs in Polk County will be able
to attend, preferably on a Saturday afternoon, before April 24th.
I would like to also have a head count on who is going to attend
so I can make the appropriate plans for space to hold the class.
Again, this class is a THREE HOUR class on understanding who does
what at a Shelter. This is not a communications training class, I
will be conducting that in May, but no date is set for that at this
moment.

March 27th's meeting will be for sign up's and Q&A for the MS150.

I will still have a PRE-MS150 briefing April 24th for those who are
signed up to assist with this event. We will have two events taking place
on Saturday the 26th with Lakeland Amateur Radio Club working the
walk-a-thon,
and Polk ARES, with Polk Emergency Management, along with the
MS150 Communicators working the Bike Race on both Saturday and Sunday.
I need to make it known that we still have a dire need for operators who
are willing to ride along and provide communications for many of the
vehicles that will be transversing the course from Winter Haven to
Sea World Orlando. Of those riding SHOTGUN, we have a cry for help in
the supply truck department as well. IF you have the ability to lift
boxes slightly heavier then Banana boxes and 1 liter cases of water,
and can drive a box truck (Medium Duty 2 ton style) or sling 50 pound
bags of ICE, PLEASE ATTEND MARCH 27th's ARES meeting! We need fleet truck
drivers or shotgunners to assist the supply wagons. Knowledge of the
Eastern portions of Polk County up to Sea World by way of Poinciana
is helpful, but maps will be provided regardless.

Communications for the MS150 will be UHF, and if you have it, APRS also.
MS150 will be using NI4CE 442.825 pl 100.0 and N4HHA 443.100 pl 103.5.

For Lakeland ARC doing the walk-a-thon, the K4LKL rptr 146.685 will be
used for that event.

Please forward your Red Cross Training request to Dick Shaw at
w4dix at tampabay.rr.com, no later then March 31st, midnight.
At that point in time we will make a date for the Shelter Training.

Thanks,
Evans Mitchell
Polk ARES E.C.
