Excess energy consumption is not the only concern these days. What about excess food consumption. Solar is great, but it is passive. How about generating energy in a more active way, like exercise? Human energy can be used to generate power to operate a radio station. That energy would come from calories burned, and not only benefit the environment, but the energy producer him or herself. By using human energy we can become producers as well as consumers.

  Hi group!

I'm totally in agreement with Mike on this issue. We are all caretakers
of our planet but must be careful to make wise choices when media hype
  is involved.

The idea of a green field day not only displays the club's concern for
the enviornment but also gives us good experience in working under
adverse conditions when solar, wood or other alternative sources of
energy is our only option. Let's hear some ideas from other members of
  the club on this subject.
