PCARESX003 POLK ARES STAFF CHANGES / UPDATES

The following changes have been acted on and set forth effective
immediately, this date, 30 MAY 2008.

Laura Pennington, KI4ZJX, has stepped forward to fill the
vacancy of Polk ARES Assistant Emergency Coordinator,
replacing Loren Mathews, K9YCG. Laura has asked to continue with
the support duties of Membership Coordinator for Polk ARES,
which was recently released by Dick Shaw, W4DIX. She will continue
with the current assignment of Membership Coordinator / Secretary,
and be given the role of Assistant Emergency Coordinator, POLK COUNTY.

INTERIM Section Team Leader for South East Polk County will be handled
by Ed Newburg, AJ4CM.

North East Section Team Leader Pat Woods, K4PHW, no change in position.

Section Team Leader for South West Polk will be handled by Steve Shultz,
N7HUQ, who also serves on the WCF Section Staff as Affiliated Club Co-
ordinator for West Central Florida Section of the ARRL. He will also
be the acting Section Team Leader for North West Polk, in place of
Laura, until the position for either North West or South West is filled.

County Government Representative, Steve Jax, N4SJJ, no change in position.

Polk County EM Assistant Emergency Manager is held by
Paul Womble, K4FB. He serves as the Polk ARES Point of Contact
for Polk Emergency Management, and works with the Amateur Radio side
of the Emergency Management Division.

We will miss having Dick and Loren on the team, but they have
noted they will still be able to assist ARES during emergency
activations or during times of need, when called upon. Thanks
to the both Loren and Dick, for their efforts on building up
Polk ARES, and Amateur Radio Licensing Testing sessions. We'll
miss them both, and wish them good health and continued fun in
the hobby of Amateur Radio Communications.
