Record Cold On The Way

Unseasonably cold weather is on the way for Florida between Tuesday-Thursday
04/07-09/2009, with subfreezing minimum temperatures possible as far south
as inland rural areas of the central peninsula north of S.R. 50. This will
be a true global cooling anomaly!

Also is appears that the three year La Nina pattern has ended with a return
to a neutral ENSO. There is some evidence that a weak to moderate El Nino
may form by summer time. This would mean an end to the three year drought in
Florida, a return to normal if not above normal precipitation for summer
2009, as well as a less active tropical cyclone season.

The demise of La Nina can be seen with recent drought busting heavy rainfall
of up to 20" in parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and
north Florida, as well as heavy snowfall in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico,
Oklahoma and parts of Texas in the past seven day period.
