Greetings from a new guy

Not so new, new ham here.  I've been licensed for about 8 years and been on the air a half dozen times or so.  I won't go into the heart wrenching tale of woe involving new rig, new antenna, and lightning...after all, this is sunny Florida.  I figure to get more involved now that I've got more time and even developed an itch to upgrade.  I will be putting a Yaesu 1900 in my Chevy Colorado, any of you done that?  I would welcome any pointers.  Thanks!
