Subject: HF Mobile Antenna

Hi Folks, A little over a week now I bought a 2005 Chevy Colorado Pick up. I want to install my Icom IC-706mkIIg in it.
Where and how I want to mount it I have done already.
What I need help with is a great HF Mobile Antenna to use with that radio on this Truck.
I have been told a Screwdriver or a Little Tarheel. What others?
I like to be able to do 6 thru 80 meter.
What are your Ideas and if you can show me what you have on your mobile that would be very helpful too, maybe show me monday at the club before or after the meeting.

    I would suggest you call Bill or Robert at 877-671-9409 or Robert at 919 552-8788 at Tarheel Antennas.  I know both of these gents personally and they know what works and what won?t with the Tarheel antennas.

Does Tarheel Antenna's ever set up at the Orlando Hamcation?
I should be able to make my purchase by then for a HF mobile antenna,
I first need to purchase a truck toolbox as I want to mount the antenna on the toolbox.

     They are now owned by the same people that own WB0W.  Bill and Robert are normally there and I normally work with them in the WB0W booth.  Glad to help if I can.

Hello,

The Board and I need to send out the following reminders and information to our members.

The last day to pay for the Christmas Party will be at the November 7th, 2011 meeting.  The price is $9.00 per person, no refunds.  No money will be accepted at the Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 Christmas Party.  This is a pre-paid event. Please bring the exact cash amount to the meeting.  If you have any questions, contact Patrick.

We have been asked to try to increase our VISTE donations for the months of November and December.  Please remember to bring a few goods to the meeting.  The need this season is great, please try to help out our community.

Marvin and Bob Foxworth will be accepting our annual dues at the November meeting.  Let's try to get a head start on this.

If any member knows anyone who would like to take a weekend technician class, let Patrick know.  There will be a local class during the weekend of November 5th and 6th, 2011.

Hi folks,

While updating the Yahoo group calendar for the December monthly meeting and Christmas party, I noticed that all of the monthly calendar events for the Polk ARES meeting were missing. Then I noticed that all of the weekly events for the LARC 2m Net were gone. I am working right now to recreate as much of what has gone missing as I can recall from memory.

I would ask that you be extra careful if you are modifying events on the calendar, especially recurring events, because any modifications could have ripple effects if not saved properly.

Sadly, there are very sparse controls for this type of activity in the Yahoo group settings, so to allow the convenience to members to create new events also brings the baggage of permitting members to delete events. Further sad is that there is no log to indicate when, why, or who modified and/or deleted events, thus my "Special Notice" to the entire membership.
