Message-ID: <155d01cce113$af2be720$0d83b560$@verizon.net> Greetings one and all. As of TODAY, Feb 1,12, I have completed the long overdue benchmark of the WC4PEM VOIP communications system. IF, you have saved in your Echolink "DEVICES" KD4EFM-L or KD4EFM-R, you will need to remove them from your favorites and replace them with WC4PEM-L and WC4PEM-R. The KD4EFM-L and -R node numbers will not be used anytime soon. NOW, IF YOU ONLY REMEMBER THEM BY NODE NUMBER, NO PROBLEM. THE NUMBERS DID NOT CHANGE!!! WC4PEM-L is 3363 for the UHF 950 / 625 Repeaters. WC4PEM-R is 149429 for the VHF 146.985. There is no change to the IRLP side, as this WAS changed 4 years ago when the pc's where moved to Bartow. IRLP is still WC4PEM. 4128 UHF and 4156 VHF. I still have to redo some of the voice files, but that will come in due time.. Please bear with me on the updates, as this will usually be done during late night hours and not during the day time unless necessary. Any question about how to use the nodes, please contact Evans Mitchell, Richard Sharp, Paul Womble, or Judson Bracewell, or post your question to the list. Thanks for your support to HAM RADIO! Your Welcome to them. I live in Auburndale and I'm home most every days. Either leave me an email or you can call me at 875-5919 for pick up. Also if these are not long enough or you need more the Love Truck Stop sells them too. They are located off I-4 at Exit 44. in Auburndale. A bit more then what I would want to pay for them but will when needed. You can also get them in different sizes there too. So You should be set unless you what to take the drive back to Orlando to AES or order them. Hope I was some help to you. 73 George/KI4NBE From truesoutherngeek at gmail.com Tue Feb 14 06:03:55 2012 From: truesoutherngeek at gmail.com (Matthew Stevens) Date: Tue, 14 Feb 2012 09:03:55 -0500 Subject: [LakelandARC] need patch cable(s) In-Reply-To: <1329206497.85687.YahooMailNeo@web38604.mail.mud.yahoo.com> References: <1329168058.40964.YahooMailNeo@web38608.mail.mud.yahoo.com> <4F39A19E.2060806@gmail.com> <1329182576.20373.YahooMailNeo@web38607.mail.mud.yahoo.com> <4F39BE66.7080500@gmail.com> <1329206497.85687.YahooMailNeo@web38604.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Message-ID: <4F3A69CB.4090000@gmail.com> Oh wow, thanks a lot! There was NO elevator ride and you had to step up all 1363 round rungs on the way up. YES you did carry your tools with safety lines on them... they got really heavy after about 30 minutes into the climb. I?m pretty sure the sailors, me included, didn?t get paid anything like the guys in this video. Another tower story.. in Alaska (a territory then) the junior man had to climb a 200 foot range tower.. no cage no ratchet... just open rungs on the welded ladder... climb up two steps... take your belt loose... flip it over the next two rungs, snap it inn place... climb two more rungs... then do it again until you get to the top... tie yourself on... open the lamp cage & change the bulbs... Yea verily... some fun. The first time I made the climb.. I climbed through an undercast & was on top of it on the top of the tower... really weird... but this was long before the EPA and other work safety dudes got involved... Not many of died then either...!! 73s ? N3TJ ?
