Good Morning Everyone!

Field Day is less than two weeks away!!

Everything is on track for a great time at Field Day 2013.  Fred
and company are getting commitments from everyone so that
every radio is operated to the fullest.  A few events are being
scheduled during Field Day, including a raffle.  

Please remember to bring a covered dish to the Family Appreciation
dinner on Saturday, June 22nd at 6pm.  The Club will provide
the burgers and dogs along with the condiments.  Be prepared to
have a great time!

I do have one request.  We need someone to bring a gas or charcoal
grill so we can cook the burgers and dogs on Saturday.   The facility
that we will be using does not have an appropriate grill for us to use.
So if someone has a grill that we may use on Saturday, please contact 
me at ki4cdy at arrl.net.

*Flying Tigers and Polk County Team Up*

The Lakeland Flying Tigers and Polk County Emergency Management have teamed
up to host an Emergency Preparedness Night on *Wednesday, June 12*. The
event will begin when the gates to Joker Marchant Stadium open at 5:30 p.m.
and will continue throughout the game as the Flying Tigers battle the
Bradenton Marauders. First pitch will cross home plate at 6:30p.m.

For the tenth consecutive year, Minor League Baseball is partnering with
the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Ready Campaign and Citizen Corps
Program to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to
emergencies including natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks.
This is the fourth season the Flying Tigers have participated in the
campaign.

On June 12 members of Polk County's Community Emergency Response Teams
(CERT) will be at the game distributing ready materials and will be
available to answer any questions from fans. There will be PSA audio and
video messages, trivia questions, games and contests throughout the game to
educate fans. There will be information regarding hurricane preparedness as
the beginning of June also marks the beginning of Hurricane season.

Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Flying Tigers at
(863) 686-8075 or visiting the stadium box office. Box seats are $6 and
reserved seats are $5 and seniors 55 and over and children 14 and under
receive a $1 discount. Wednesday nights Purchase an All-You-Can-Eat ticket
for $10 and fill up on hot dogs, hamburgers, Polish sausages, popcorn,
pretzels, Cracker Jacks and chips from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Parking is FREE.

Hello Everyone,

Field Day 2013 is 4 days away!

Preparation for the event is almost complete.  Your Board will
be meeting tonight to finalize all of the details.

Remember, we will be having our Family Appreciation Dinner
at 6pm on Saturday (at the Field Day site).  Please remember
to bring a covered dish to share and YOUR OWN DRINKS.

Also, please purchase raffle tickets ($1) for a few items at our Field
Day site (must be present to win Field Day articles) and a beautiful
red, white, and blue quilt that will be raffled on July 1st (not required
to be present to win).  The quilt will be raffled off during our Field
Day
Celebration dinner on July 1st. 

The Field Day Celebration Dinner will be at 6pm on July 1st before
our July meeting at the Church.  This event is $9 per person and will
be catered by Jimbo's BBQ.  Ernie MUST have the money by the
end of Field Day on Sunday, June 23rd. 

We also will be administering the amateur radio test on Sunday at 9am.

the Lake Wales Club weekly net  (147.330 P/L 127.3 )  every tuesday night

Reminder about the Monday, July 1st Meeting
Agenda: Jimbo's BBQ including club provided dessert
                      Field day images by Bill and Rich
Start Time:     6:00 PM
Quilt drawing: 7:00 PM
If you have not yet purchased tickets for this event you can still
contact Ernie at 660-4635, and pay at the door. The deadline for
contacting him is Friday, June 28th. However, do contact if you plan to
attend!    Testing will begin at 5:00 instead of 5:30

Polk County ARES meeting tonight at 6pm. We will discuss SkyWarn
activation and Nets. Operators for the Emergency Operations Center station
are needed. ICS 100 and ICS 700 classroom instruction will be available on
July 11th in Bartow. This training is available online any time. Please be
a part of this meeting and help organize emergency communications for the
citizens in Polk County. Thank you.
