Good Evening,
I am not sure who all is still around from days gone by,
but the supplemental answer to the question is the following
information;
It was during the 2003 through 2008 or 2009 time frame, that it was
placed that an LPD ham station would use K4LKL during emergencies or
Public Events in the spirit of Ham Radio. The Trustee at that time was Paul
Womble, whom was also the EC for Polk ARES, before moving to Manatee County
and working for the County EM. Richard Sharp, now trustee of K4LKL, has
kept that same status in the way of operations. It has not been a
DOCUMENTED
thing, but I believe at one living time, it was in the by-laws of LARC.
DON'T QUOTE
ME ON THIS, I was only a guest for a few years when I was ARES EC, and that
was
carried through from the past to the present, the use of the K4LKL call
sign during
EOC activations.
Short Form, through the Trustee, the use of K4LKL is governed by LARC, and
overseen
by Richard Sharp; KQ4KX. Emergency use of the station at LPD was to be as
K4LKL, but
all other times, the Operator at the mic is responsible for id'ing as
themselves, and the
identical goes for the WC4PEM call sign, which too is for Emergency use or
at the EOC
during activation or Public Events.
To obtain true and correct information, Richard Sharp would be the person
to contact.
Jim is correct in his information as well. This information is to help
others understand
about the LPD Ham Station, that is maintained by LARC.

Jim,
LPD does not have a call sign. We have brought that fact to different
individuals with no reaction. In the past, I believe that when the EOC
was active, they used the K4LKL call sign.
