Polk County ARES Meeting Tomorrow Thursday 27th

All Amateur Radio Operators,
 

 The February Polk County ARES meeting will be tomorrow, Thursday, February 26th. We will meet at the EOC at 6pm. You can find directions and further information about Polk County ARES at www.PolkARES.org .
 

 The recent Skywarn Net activation will be discussed as we are looking for feedback to improve our response. The Skywarn program is in development by Andrew, WX4AMS, and Steve, W4XDS. Andew has put together net scripts and a Skywarn Guidelines Manual. Input from our volunteers is essential for quality improvement.
 

 There will be an SET, Simulated Emergency Test, on March 22nd at 10am until noon. Highlands, Hardee, and Polk Counties will be cooperating in  this training. EOC, Net Control, Hospital, and Shelter Stations are to be activated if we have the participation to do so. We will organize our response to the training at this meeting.
 

 I will be on the road at the end of the month. Please enter your training hours by following the link at the top of the Training page at www.PolkARES.org . This will be your hours for February.
 

 IC100, IC200, IC700, and IC802 is also available on the Training page.  I would encourage those interested in working at the EOC during an activation to complete this training. We have Web EOC training coming up soon. That would completed the needed training to begin working at the EOC. EOC Operators are needed. If you are interested in the WebEOC course, contact me and I will forward you the training opportunities.
