International Marconi Day Saturday, 23 Apr 2016

This Saturday is International Marconi Day.  Amateur radio operators around
the world will be taking part in this day by contacting many of the special
events stations around the world.  You only have to Google the event to find
clubs all over the world taking part in this event.  The Royal Society of
Great Britain, RSGB, shows over 60 clubs worldwide that have registered with
them to take part in this event by hosting special event stations.  Time to
surf the web and find the stations you would like to work and receive one of
the special event certificates or QSL cards.  Please take the time to get on
the air, even if for a short time, to support the effort of these clubs and
help make their special events station a success.

A 24-hour event held annually to celebrate the anniversary of wireless
pioneer Guglielmo Marconi's birth on April 25, 1874. IMD is observed each
year on a Saturday close to Marconi's birthday, and this year it will be
observed on Saturday, April 23. (follow the below link)
