This Week's Events LARC

[N4ESS]

Good morning this bright and sunny Monday morning.  This week we have some
important items on the club calendar.  Those of you that go to the Tuesday
morning breakfast we will be there at the Brunch Box at the usual time of
9am. The same morning but a bit later takes QCWA members to lunch at The Egg
Factory, 1533 S. Combee Rd., Lakeland, in the plaza on the SW corner of
Crystal Lake Rd. and S Combee Rd.

 

The big events will both fall on Saturday 23 Jul.  

 

1.)  The Warrior Walk, will be underway at 8am at the First Presbyterian
Church, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Dr, Lakeland, on Lake Hollingsworth.  Bob
Doherty, KM4BAO, will be driving this event and working closely with the
coordinator, Anna Baker.  He will be sending out more information in the
next few days.  We are in need of more volunteers to man the positions
around the walk route.  Please contact me or Bob Doherty, KM4BAO, to get
involved in this important event.  Please make your contacts as soon as
possible to make sure that we have the proper amount of people to meet the
needs of this important public service event.  Contact Bob, KM4BAO, email:

2.)  The next big item is on the same day.  The LARC tailgate party event
will be happening at the Revolution Church, 7315 Kathleen Rd., Lakeland, at
the corner of Kathleen Rd and Duff Rd.  This is North Lakeland area not far
from our Field Day site.  We will be setting up at 6am for an opening time
of 7am.  Use the repeater with consideration of the Warrior Walk that will
be on the same frequency that morning.  This event will last until around
1pm.  Lots to buy and sell.  

 

PLEASE:  If you are not going to go to the Tailgate please consider taking
the time to participate in the Warrior Walk.  You don't have to walk just
man a station around the lake to monitor the flow of walkers.  The Walk will
be over in time to head out to the tailgate and check out the items of
interest.
