Good evening all,

 

Just want to let you know that my DMR Repeater, N3OS, is on the air in Dade City. I have it up and running as of this afternoon. Frequency is 442.375 +. I have quite a few talk groups on it and they will probably be in a state of flux for a few weeks as kinks get worked out with the bridge. For now you can go with Local 2, FL State-Wide, SE Region to get you started.

 

Be sure to send me an email when you get on the machine and let me know the power, ht/mobile/base and the location you got into it from. I'd like to have a good idea of the coverage. Only running twenty watts so as to not tax this old 8300... Hope it works for you.

 

So far K4CBN, W4VCO, KA4LAO, K4VLP and myself have been on the machine. First two were south near Lakeland, KA#LAO was on SR 50 west of US 98. and K4VLP and I are right near the repeater.

 

Looking forward to hearing from all, and please share with those wanting DMR out here...

I just want to remind everyone that we have a few events requesting our assistance with communications over the next couple of months.? The first is the morning of March 10th in Zephyrhills... Founders Day Run. Doesn't take but a few hours. Let me know if you can help with this.

The other event of immediate concern to me is the Gran Fondo, March 25th. The usual route with the same site assignments available to all that want the same as prior years. This bicycle race covers 100 miles through Pasco, Hernando, & Citrus Counties; and it goes all day long but most assignments require less than four hours with starting times based on cyclists' anticipated arrival at each site. I sure could use everyone's help. If you already signed up, Thank You, and if you've been holding off or forgot please sign up as soon as possible. A great deal of man/girl-power is needed. If you want to help as a SAG unit or Tail-gunner please be sure to tell me that in your email.

Both events get you a shirt and the Gran Condo gets you a fairly good meal as well if you want it. The past two years the catered meal was at The Total in San Antonio.

In your email to me (n3os at arrl.net) please indicate the event(s) you wish to help with, your name, your CALLSIGN, your cell number, and your shirt size. If you have limited availability for the Gran Fondo please indicate the times and I will see if I can make those work for you so you can join in the fun. IT IS FUN!
