It was my first, and left a lot to be desired. Next time I will ad a blank for other. Before a lightning storm I generally: Disconnect the coax leading into the shack and place the unconnected end several feet from my house Disconnect the antenna from the radio and leave the unconnected end on the floor in the shack away from the radio Disconnect all my radio equipment from the house power source. I power down all equipment, but leave it plugged into the wall outlet. Do nothing. If lightning is going to strike, I can't so anything about it, so I just hope for the best. Have you ever had damage to your shack due to lightning? Yes No There were several responses in addition to the survey that are worth noting. I will post them in a separate email. The Florida Department of Health inquiry into the Norovirus, also known as Norwalk-like virus, was made public Monday. In Polk, dozens of residents in a long-term care facility came down with the stomach illness in early January, but no other cases have been confirmed, Polk Health Director Daniel Haight said. Haight would not identify the facility or release any information about the victims. He stressed, however, the importance of hand washing at work or any public venue. Although highly contagious, Norovirus is not considered especially dangerous, although the very young and the elderly may become dehydrated if not properly treated, Haight said. Norovirus is really a group of viruses that cause symptoms that mimic the stomach flu, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. ?It?s definitely not the flu,? Haight said. Symptoms of Norovirus last up to three days, and may be associated with a low-grade fever, headache, muscle aches and fatigue. ?This illness is extremely common during the winter months, when people are more likely to be confined indoors,? state Department of Health Secretary John O. Agwunobi said in a news release. In addition to human contact, the virus is spread through contaminated water and food. FTM-100DR mobile base dual band ( detachable control head) 4. FTM-7250 Dual band Base mobile front mount 5. FTM-400 Dual band mobile with color dual receive dual band separation kit for control head 6. All band base FTM991A HF and 2M 70 CM (top of the line radio) I will most likely go with the FT-70DR since the cost is very reasonable and it seems to be a great radio to start my digital adventures with. 73's Ringo K2TDR -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
