Subject: [LARC-CQ] Voting and Christmas Dinner

Voting will take place this evening. Those who haven't voted online will be
given a paper ballot as they sign in.

The speaker this evening will be Mike Shreve, on the subject of easy to
make end fed and multi band off center fed dipoles.

Patrick will be collecting for the Christmas Party which will be held
December 2nd, the first Monday of the month, at our regular meeting place,
the Parkview Baptist Church, starting at 6:00 PM. The cost will be $10 per
adult. As in the past, those wishing to bring a desert are encouraged to do
so.

Please pay in advance, or RSVP so we can make sure we have plenty of food
to go around.

The BLUE DOTS on the charts below show where each of the Foxes were hidden last night.  The numbers in the various states and provinces indicate a hound that found them.

All was accomplished using 5w CW and poor Band Condx during the first Fox Hunt of the season..... the Hunt lasts for 1-1/2 hours.

You will find that the SouthCARS group is having a tailgate on 23 Nov 2019 at the Golden Corral Restaurant parking lot on US98 North of I-4 in Lakeland.  The address is Golden Corral Buffet & Grill

4705 US Hwy 98 N, Lakeland, FL 33809.  The time is from 8am to Noon.  All are welcome.  At Noon there will be a SouthCARS luncheon at the Golden Corral.

OK, so it?s not the full sized stores of old but there are many items that you may need and can?t find elsewhere.  Free shipping over $19.00 from RadioShack.com.  Mostly the stores are combined with Hobby Town.  If you are into kits, parts and repairs then give R/S a look again.

While I no longer have a pecuniary interest in R/S I do have fond memories that take me back to the early 60?s....... now if Lafayette Radio would also find a way ...........

I?ve had my Baofengs for 7-1/4 years and used a small screwdriver to snug up the brass antenna nut.  The real tool to do this task comes with each radio........ follow this link for the secret.

This is a reminder to everyone that the Tampa Amateur Radio Club is having their TARCFest this Saturday. Set up for tailgater begins at 7:00 am and trading opens at 8:00 am.  Admission is $ 5.00 per person, children 12 and under are free.  Tailgating is FREE.  Limited amount of table inside at $ 15.00 each.

This is a reminder that the Christmas Party is next Monday, December 2nd.
It will be held at the same location we have our monthly meetings. Plan to
arrive around six. We are expecting approximately seventy guests, but it is
not to late to put your name on the list and pay at the door. The charge is
$10 per adult.

The menu is as follows: (Barbecue is from Mission)
barbecued pulled pork
barbecued brisket of beef
barbecued chicken
sides: potato salad, bean salad, and coleslaw
ice cream

Guests are invited to bring a desert as in past Christmas dinners.
