[LARC-CQ] NEW 10 MTR NET 09 APR

 Great.. Thank you, I am anxious to try again next week.. Now I know from the experiment last week which radio I have to use..As far as antenna I can go either way Vert. or Horiz... KN4LEH

 I was listening last night and could hear Buddy (WB4OMG)  and John (KK4ITX) with a good bit of noise. Dan, (W3LR -NCS) was 569 here. I did hear KX4LEO, KN4LEH and KI4MBE enough to copy the call sign, plus a station from Kentucky that was there briefly. I didn't add my check-in to the noise as my antennas are low take-off and would likely not have been heard. I'll rig up an NVIS vertical for next Thursday. I'm located in EL88xb, for reference.

This is an excellent endeavor and one that could prove very important in time of emergency. As for relays on the net, I think this is an area where we could all use the practice. It is called it the American Radio RELAY League, after all. Kudos to John for the inspiration and I can't think of two more knowledgeable people than Dan and Buddy to have on the project. 73

 I was there , not sure if you heard me or not, I could not hear you . I looked it up and it is 35 miles from my place to yours.. I tried my vert. antenna, I tried my horiz. antenna. I tried 2 different radios no luck..Darn I spent al day peaking my radio's to make sure there was no problems.. Hi Dan,

It?s a long way for 10m from Haines City.  I was not the NCO, Don, W3LR was and he did get you in the Log through Buddy, WB4OMG in North Lakeland.  Relays ARE part of our game along with the ability to accurately pass the traffic as you know.  Buddy had another engagement so he couldn?t continue with the Net and relays from the south.

We very much appreciate your efforts and hope that you try again even if it has to be through a relay, I do that on a 6m Net in Valrico.

Don by the way is another 6+ miles north of me but has some elevation that helps.

There were several stations, in Polk County that tried to check in. I had to go. I could not hang around to do a lot of relaying. LARC tried a 10M net, a few years ago. Maybe we ought to try it again?
