Everyone?s entitled to speak their opinion on air, even if I don?t agree with it. That said, there?s a pretty well know, if unwritten, understanding that religion and politics are best avoided on air. That?s more important on the repeater - on HF, you can spin the dial if you don?t like what you hear. It?s a little harder to do that on a repeater.

I agree with this 100%. Legal speech is permitted at all times
regardless of intended or perceived offense. The last thing I would want
is for our repeater to be idle more often than not because folks are
fearful of saying something that might unintentionally offend others.

Indeed, direct communication with the person who you feel has slighted
you is the best course of action, but please be prepared for that person
to rebuff your concerns if this is just a matter of you being offended
and not a matter of an illegal act (which should be taken to the
appropriate authorities anyway). In my opinion, the least productive
thing to do is take a personal offense to a mailing list which has the
potential to divide the group and cause further strife.

As a data network engineer, I've always followed the rule that I should
be permissive in what I receive and conservative in what I send, and
I've found that works well with radio communications as well. Statements
of fact that I may not air myself are not going to get me ruffled when I
hear them. It's a good policy to just let it ride if it's not illegal,
and if it is illegal then there are appropriate agencies that should be
notified.

Best regards,
Mike

Although not a data network engineer, I would echo KT2T's comments on
this.

73's, and have a Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and happy New Year.
