Hi All,
I am currently in Maine and will remain away from my Zhills QTH until September but yes, I still show up on 10m (28.030) for local CW practice on Thursdays @ 2000 hrs but usually just push out CQ to the ether.
The ZAARC website has a MCW project for FM HT’s if any one should be interested in building one or make it a club project. I have quite a few 555 timers at home that I can part with and probably most of the other components too. An MFJ key sells for $15 and making one costs next to nothing and is fun to build too !
It would be a fun thing to have a MCW Net and get some interest going for CW, just because !
Perfect CW no, but fun for many.
Here’s the link: https://www.zaarc.org/CW%20With%20Your%20HT.pdf
Keep me in the loop, be happy to be a part.

Think I even heard it on 40M, one time. Real CW is used on the low end of the various VHF and UHF bands. It is used to make contacts, when SSB just won’t quite make it.
> Yes, an FT 847 will do what you want. I assume your 2M antenna is vertical and resonant on the high end of the band. Finding a frequency, above 144.3 MHz, to operate CW, that will not irritate people, may be difficult.

If you are proposing real CW, there are few people with suitable 2M radios. At one time, John KK4ITX had a (real) CW net going on 10M. I do not know what happened to it. Right now, I am in between 10M antennas.
