Phil
Sorry for the delayed
response... I'm not sure what you or Anchor mean
conflicting, I thought I posted in the original
message these are 'incompatible'. I want
to know _how_ they are incompatible- eg what did
Anchor change, and can anything be done (by me)
to make 'em work. I own both and therefore
can mod both. I observe the mic appears to
have a jtag interface. I suspect the
single rx/tx channel combo where I can receive,
it is simply hitting a harmonic.

Thanks for the info about the freqs, the

Mike more info on
the Anchor unit....you list conflicting models
and wh numbers....I know a tech in Anchor Audio
and called him......The eairlier series used
Vhf 170MHZ freqs and the later units used
700 MHZ for a very short time then they switched
to 682 to 698 MHZ freqs. Sense our HAM radios or
a scanner can get to these freqs. you can scan
them for the most part. Triple check the model
and also the serial number is the key to nailing
down what you have.....next step is
yours....Phil K4BHE

Thanks for responding Phil, here's the
info I have on the Anchor equipment;

The
receiver is integrated into a loudspeaker
MegaVox Pro model MEGA-6000U1. It is set to
wireless channel 9.
The transmitter is a
hand-held wireless microphone model WH-3000.
With the mic set to channel 4, with the
equipment in close physical range (~5-10 feet)I
can get the rx link lights to illuminate on the
receiver and it will demodulate audio as
expected. It doesn't lock onto the signal too
well and will lose the lock often depending on
mic orientation.
I cannot find any
meaningful documentation on the mfgrs site, but
a call to their support revealed these are not
intended to be compatible. I don't know if the
incompatibility is with the channel 'codes',
modulation technique, or carrier.

I
don't have physical access to the drive-in
equipment, but swear to myself every time I
visit the drive-in that I will bring up the
topic here, and finally I'm getting around to
it. If your equipment is at all portable, I'd
just like to give the signal a look-see to see
if anything jumps out as being mis-aligned. I've
simply never had a good experience trying to
tune their signal from various locations on the
property using a variety of FM receivers. I
figure if I have problems, everyone else
probably does too.

Mike
> Greetings
>
> I've got a
16 channel UHF mic from Anchor anchoraudio.com -
and a 16 channel uhf receiver from the same
company that are incompatible according to the
mfg. I suspect the carrier freq is shifted and
that's why they're 'incompatible'. There is a
single channel where they kinda work, but not
too good.
> I'd like to look at the
signals and try to figure out what's going on.
All I've got is a 60mhz DSO. I'm looking for a
spectrum analyzer or whatever you've got and
some RF know-how. Anybody wanna try to help
figure this out?
> A separate project;
I'd really also like to look at the FM signal
for the lakeland drive-in. I suspect simple over
modulation, but would really like to look at the
signal.
>
> Mike Phillips
>
