Previous rainfall totals for this month include:

12th- 0.81
13th- 0.11
14th- 4.27
18th- 0.96
19th- 1.58
20th- 0.87

The month rainfall total is now 11.23" and the year total 16.05". Areas of north Lakeland have received quite a bit more rainfall than at my location.

So far May 2009 is the wettest of the five May's since I have lived at this location in south Lakeland. It is the second wettest May I have seen going back to 1965.

The wettest May occurred in 1980 with 17.50" measured. This was measured in Dade City which is approximately 30 miles NW of Lakeland.

Parts of NE Florida between Daytona Beach and Jacksonville have surpassed 25" in the past four days.
