[LakelandARC] LP EOC Net

Hi George,

 

I agree with everything you posted and I feel your pain. We have many
members and few are active, that's just the way it is. As for myself, I have
a club board meeting to attend to tonight, I am working on a CW presentation
with the children for the Sun 'n' Fun all of next week representing LARC, I
have 6 code practice oscillators to assemble and complete for that function,
I was at the LPD outing last weekend, for the last 4 weeks and currently,
I'm up to my eyeballs helping Ansel with his Science Fair Project, helping
Gabby with her Spanish classes, cooking, cleaning, laundry, sponsoring
drunks in A.A., had to make a new bamboo fly rod for a customer, and eat
dinner and shower when I get the chance. Wanna trade??

I get what you're saying and unfortunately LARC is known throughout the area
and amongst other clubs to be as you describe. I've said it time and again
at the Board meetings. Don't know how to change the situation!!

Are we supposed to bail?? I don't think so. 

I stated that, as my schedule clears up a bit, I might be able to help out
with the LPD Net in the  future, for right now, it's not an option, there's
only so many hours in my day.

If you have any ideas as to how to more motivate the members, I'm all ears.
Let me know. I'll bring it to the board and we'll discuss and implement what
we can.

Hello Group,

I am to meet with Stephen with the Lakeland PD this evening at 6:30pm.
I have gotten a couple of emails from Stephen.
One was telling me that Mike Oliver KT2T wasn't able to meet with him as
he's going to be out of town.
Another one telling me Ren KG4BAS had other thing he is tied up with.
So am I the only one seeing Stephen this evening?
If this is so I'm not doing this alone, I "WILL NOT" bail the club out
again.
Dan WZ1P can't even get Net Controllers as it is, So I'm seeing a picture as
I'm going to be the only one holding the door open running nets at the LP
EOC. and I'm "NOT" going to do this alone. 
I am the Host of the club and the club wouldn't have that if it wasn't for
me stepping up at the last minute.
Folks we can kick the club to the curb if it's going to be only a special
few running the club and no one else does anything.
Sorry but I've seen this happen time and time again too many times to get
others to do anything for the club.
I'm to the point of giving up Host just to show you what is missing when
it's gone.
Now hate me if you must, but I only speak the truth.
